Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh is not going to end her career until she sets a new world record. The athlete told what motivates her to strive for new achievements.

Mahuchikh named the record holder whom she considers an example to follow, Sport.ua reports.

Yaroslava Mahuchikh continues to dominate in the contest of the women's high jump. At the age of 23, the athlete from Dnipro is a world and European champion, a winner of the Olympic Games, a three-time winner of the Diamond League and a world record holder. However, the athlete has no intention of stopping there.

What does Mahuchikh strive for?

A young athlete wants to set a new high jump record. Yaroslava said that she is motivated by the performance style of Swede Armand Duplantis, who reaches new heights in pole vaulting at every tournament. Mahuchikh also sets herself a maximum goal, the achievement of which he works at every tournament.

"I took a long time to come to my senses after my world record. The body spent so much energy on it that I just walked for four days and could not do anything. Although mentally I was already ready for this height. And physically even earlier, when I jumped 2.06 indoors and 2.05 in Brussels. But then, perhaps, I was not so stable psychologically," Mahuchikh explained.

The athlete assured that she had already mentally prepared for the next height. Yaroslava Mahuchikh is going to conquer at least 2.15 meters.

It should be recalled that athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh showed her beloved husband and spent her vacation at the resort.

Yaroslava Mahuchikh was also nominated for the title of the best athlete in Europe at the end of the year.
