Russia and North Korea will cooperate not only in the military sphere. They will also strengthen ties in sports.

The agreements were reached in Pyongyang, Reuters reported.

Unlike Russia, the DPRK is not under IOC sanctions

According to the source, DPRK Sports Minister Kim Il Guk and Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev met in the North Korean capital.

The parties discussed the exchange of experience between the countries and future cooperation.

Officials in Pyongyang and Moscow signed a protocol on cooperation in sports in 2025.

The Russians were also given a tour of North Korea's sports arenas and watched a taekwondo show.

It should be noted that in June, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Pyongyang, where he agreed with Kim Jong-un on a mutual defense pact. As a result of the agreement, the DPRK sent more than ten thousand troops to Russia to participate in hostilities against Ukraine.
