UFA gives first comment on Mudryk situation — details
Oleh Luznyi, chairman of the Professional Football Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association, commented on the possible disqualification of Mykhailo Mudryk. The former Arsenal defender chose his words carefully to express his attitude to this situation.
Luzhnyi explained that Mudryk may still be innocent, Sport.ua reports.
This week, the doping scandal involving Mykhailo Mudryk has become one of the central topics in Ukrainian sports. The Chelsea winger could be banned for four years if the player's second doping test is positive.
What Luzhnyi said about Mudryk
Officials are in no hurry to comment on the situation with the Ukrainian footballer. The only exception was Shakhtar's CEO Serhii Palkin, who supported the young footballer. And Oleh Luzhnyi admitted that it is still difficult to comment on this situation.
According to the former Arsenal defender, it is not yet known how the banned drug ended up in Mudryk's body. There's a good chance that something was slipped into Mykhailo's drink, or he might have drunk from someone else's glass.
Luzhnyi said that he expects a long investigation, but the expert hopes that the second doping test will demonstrate the Ukrainian footballer's innocence.
As a reminder, Shakhtar has finally resolved the issue of who will coach the team in the second part of the season.
The well-known coach Viktor Skrypnyk held talks with one of the UPL clubs and may return to Ukraine.
